A Native American dance workshop aims to bring out the child in you

Christabel Menezes is all set to host a Hula Hoop Dance Workshop, a relatively unknown dance art form, in Pune.

Hula Hoop is a beautiful Native American dance using a wide circle as a prop, which is also an excellent exercise especially for that worrisome and unflattering jelly belly.

This workshop has a maximum of five participants per batch so everybody can get personal attention.

Says Menezes, “Release the inner child in you as you let go of your inhibitions with this fun for all Hula Hoop workshop. Get a zero-Impact cardio workout as you improve your core strength, flexibility and hand-eye co-ordination, while jamming to some fun tunes. It is also a wonderful exercise for the abdominal region.”

“Hula Hooping will teach you to smile from the heart and love your body with abandon, regardless of your age or gender. Hooping will also instill a sense of pride and courage in the body, regardless of what popular media makes us believe is the ideal body type and figure,” said Menezes.

About the teacher

Christabel Menezes is a singer by profession, but she became obsessed with the hoop in early 2011, when she was introduced to it by an Australian lady she met in her travels across the world. Since then, she has lived and performed in many places, but always with a hoop as accessory. She also learned that she loves to teach people and share her passion with others. She began teaching 1.5 years ago at the Barefoot Resort in the Andaman Islands.
