Actor Robert Wagner has been named a 'person of interest' over the death of his wife Natalie Wood ' 36 years after she died. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lieutenant John Corina confirmed the stunning revelation in a new documentary about the mystery surrounding the 'West Side Story' star's death, reports contactmusic.com.

As we've investigated the case over the last six years, I think [Wagner] is more of a person of interest now,' he told CBS' '48 Hours'. 'We know now that he was the last person to be with Natalie before she disappeared,' Corina continued. 'I haven't seen him tell the details that match all the other witnesses in this case. I think he's constantly changed his story a little bit. And his version of events just don't add up.'

Wood's body was found floating in a Santa Catalina Island cove on the morning of November 29, 1981, after a night of dining and drinking on the island and on a yacht with her husband Wagner, fellow actor Christopher Walken, and the boat's captain.
