Former civil aviation minister threatened in Urdu
It was at 9.26 pm on Monday and former Union Minister Arif Mohammad Khan was on his way to attend a dinner at Zakir Nagar in Okhla.
"Is it Mr Arif Mohammad Khan I am speaking to?" he asked.
Khan confirmed and asked who was calling. Instead of replying, the caller started hurling the choicest of abuses and threats to eliminate Khan in Urdu.
"He was speaking very fine Urdu. He called me again, after I hung up on the first call. This time he spoke fluently in Hindi," said Khan, who is a former civil aviation minister.
Till he reached the venue, Khan received five more calls on his cell phone from the number 9540874650.
"I do not know why the caller threatened to kill me. He called me five times but after the first two calls but I did not answer," said Khan.
The police have lodged a complaint and started an inquiry into the matter. "Khan saab told us that the caller spoke in very fine Hindi and Urdu. We will trace details of the phone calls and location of the phone. Today was a national holiday therefore we could not get the details. We will soon find out against whose name the number has been allotted," said a senior police official.u00a0u00a0
