Dear Diana, I'm 26 and my boyfriend is of the same age. We've been going out for almost a year now. I'm a book lover while he's a movie buff.
Even though I’m not much of a moviegoer, I try my best to be part of his passion for cinema but he doesn’t reciprocate when it comes to books. He sometimes dismisses literature saying films are better in conveying what books can’t. We often end up fighting. How do I get him interested in books?

Dear Irshita,
You’ll are as different as chalk and cheese. But as they say opposites attract. You could spend hours at a bookstore browsing through titles which he may find boring while he could watch films back-to-back that might give you a headache. Instead of squabbling over your interests, live and let live. Don’t chide each other, but start talking about what each of you have seen or read. In this way, both can share their passions with each other and at the same time pursue their interests. If you want to stay in this relationship, you will have to co-exist.
