'I like someone, but I'm not sure about dating her'
Introducing Dr Love, who solves your relationship riddles in a confusing digital age
What's the best way to tell someone that you like them, but aren't sure about a relationship with them? I don't want to give them the wrong impression, or make them assume I'm leading them on.
Why can't you just say what you just did? How difficult is it to explain?
I broke up with my girlfriend in 2016 because my friend's girlfriend told her that I was cheating on her. She also told her that I was interested in her money alone. My girlfriend simply believed her and ended our relationship. I think my friend's girlfriend did this as an act of revenge, because she knew I didn't exactly approve of her relationship with my friend. I have been waiting for my ex-girlfriend to give me a chance to explain for over a year, because I want to tell her why she was lied to. I am literally just waiting for her. How should I convince her? How do I tell her that I love her so much? She just ignores me, and I don't know what to do. Please help me out!

It's been two years without a response from her, so I'm pretty sure it's safe to assume she has no intention of giving you another chance. Yes, your friend's girlfriend may have lied, and you are well within your rights to be upset about that, but I fail to understand why you didn't do a thing to rectify this impression back when it happened. Did you try asking your friend to speak to your girlfriend? Did you try putting your side of the story across in any way? The bottom line is, your ex-girlfriend chose to believe someone else, which isn't a good sign, because it means there were trust issues in your relationship already. I suggest you try and put this behind you and move on, because it's obvious that she has by now. If she chooses to ignore you, there's not much you can do about it.
