Fiza says she appealed to Congress leaders to deny Chander Mohan a ticket for the polls

Days after the once powerful, four-time Congress legislator was denied a ticket to the upcoming Assembly election in the state by his party, allegedly for his controversial remarriage and breakup to the state's former deputy advocate general Fiza alias Anuradha Bali, his ladylove has made another disclosure; that she worked behind the scene to make sure Mohan was denied a Congress ticket.

'The end'

Fiza said she had appealed to the Congress High Command to reject Mohan's plea for a ticket. "While he (Mohan) was trying to get a ticket, I was trying to cancel his chances," she said. She added she had been at the task for months.

"Over the last few months, I have been making regular trips to Delhi and have met many senior Congress leaders, including Mohsina Kidwai. I appealed to the Congress High Command on television as well. I pointed out Chander Mohan's misdeeds, his frivolous attitude towards religions and women," said Fiza.

Kidwai is heading Haryana's candidate screening committee formed by the Congress earlier this month to boost its chances in the poll-bound states.

'He will be in jail'

Fiza played another poll masterstroke. She said not only did Mohan marry her the Muslim way after converting to Islam; they also had a wedding under Hindu rituals.

"I could have made this fact public earlier too, but I wanted to teach him a lesson. I waited for the election time to reveal his digression. His political career is over. I made sure it was the end for him," said Fiza.

Fiza said the Hindu marriage would land Mohan in jail. "Chander Mohan duped me and the world by saying his remarriage to me was legal because he had converted to Islam. But soon after out nikaah, he also married me the Hindu way with many witnesses. I have photographs of the phera and when he was tying the mangalsutra around my neck. But according to the Hindu Marriage Act, this is illegal. It is bigamy. The Supreme Court, in another similar case, had ruled that in the case of remarriage without a divorce from the first wife, and even if the second wife is aware of the first wedlock, the second marriage amounts to rape. So, Chander Mohan has done an illegal act and you will soon see him in jail. And no political party would want such a corrupt representative," said Fiza.

'Family wipeout'

The lawyer also said she would spoil the winning chances of Mohan's father Bhajan Lal and his elder brother Kuldeep Bishnoi as well. Bhajan Lal and his elder son Kuldeep Bishnoi had been last year expelled from the Congress last year and they floated the Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC).

This year, after the alliance between Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and HJC fell apart and the latter couldn't forge a tie-up with Bharatiya Janata Party as well, the fate of its founders seem bleak.

"I thank Mayawati and the BJP for not forging relationships with Bhajan Lal and Kuldeep Bishnoi. Such is this family, that Mohan had appealed for a Congress ticket for Seema Bishnoi, his wife, as well from Panchkula. The same wife, he had allegedly deserted to marry me. Mohan, his father and brother wronged a woman and have been punished for it," said Fiza, adding that she would hold press conferences and meetings to reveal more sordid details about the family and ensure "their total wipeout from the state."
