In Coco Chanel's shoes
Encapsulating the lifetime of women who have taken the world by storm in 45 minutes of screen time isn't an easy task, but Extraordinary Women, which features on Discovery Channel this Tuesday, succeeds in living up to this challenge.
Watch and know more about Coco Chanel, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Agatha Christie, Maria Montessori, and Madame Chiang Kai-Shek. They are among the women who will be featured in the 12-part series.
We watched the series on Chanel and Hepburn. Each story is packed with information that is effortlessly delivered to the viewers by the narrator Sophie Okonedo. The episodes deal with the stories in great detail, but falls short of visuals to substantiate it with, making them a tad repetitive. However, Okonedo’s narration and the nature of the content are gripping enough to make up for this flaw.
The series manages to hook you. Did you know Hepburn thought herself to be ugly, and that Chanel yearned for true love all her life? Watch the series to know more about the women that do not cease to inspire.
