It was Puja’s elder brother Vicky who discovered her body at the vacant plot, just 200 metres away from their residence in defence quarters near Pashan-Sutarvadi.

Their father Vilas is an ex-serviceman. u00a0Police officials are now scrutinising call detail records of Puja’s cellphone, which they recovered from her pocket.

Vilas had registered a missing person’s complaint on Saturday night at 11.45 after Puja failed to return home following her Maths tuition class in the evening.

According to family members, Puja used to attend Maths class between 6 pm to 8pm every day in Gol Market, but got worried when she failed to return home at the lecture.

“We looked around for her till late in the night, but couldn’t trace her. We then registered a missing person’s complaint at Pashan police chowky, which is near to our residence,” Vicky said.u00a0
