The four-day Youth Test (Under-19) between India and Sri Lanka ended in a draw here yesterday.
India looked to be heading to a convincing win with the hosts reduced to 241-9, but the last-wicket pair of Ramesh Mendis (22) and Lakshan Jayasinghe (8) fought hard to salvage a draw.
They faced 55 balls enroute to saving the match as Sri Lanka ended their second innings on 264-9. Earlier on Day Four, Lanka were forced to follow-on after being bowled out for 256 in reply to India’s 503 for seven declared in the first innings.
