Former Indian-born South African cricketer Moosa Mangera passed away late on Thursday evening after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was 67. Mangera’s skills on the field was often compared with Jonty Rhodes’ for agility, but was never acknowledged because of the apartheid years.

Apart from cricket, Mangera excelled in football and athletics. He was nicknamed ‘monkey’ by his teammates because of his agility and nimble feet.
