Indian cricketers take to Twitter to wish hockey team luck for World Cup campaign

Some of the biggest names in Indian cricket on Friday wished luck to the Sardar Singh-led hockey team which will start its World Cup campaign against Belgium at The Hague in The Netherlands on Saturday

New Delhi: Some of the biggest names in Indian cricket today wished luck to the Sardar Singh-led hockey team which will start its World Cup campaign against Belgium at The Hague in The Netherlands, tomorrow.


Team India's vice-captain Virat Kohli, senior opener Gautam Gambhir and off-spinner Harbhajan Singh took to micro-blogging site Twitter to wish the hockey team.


"Wishing @TheHockeyIndia all the best for the Hockey World Cup 2014," Kohli wrote on his twitter page.

Gambhir, who recently made a comeback into the Indian Test team, tweeted that that he will be keenly following the fortunes of hockey boys. "All d best to our hockey team for their World Cup campaign. I'll b following their 1st game tomorrow vs belgium. Guess its @ 7.30 pm. Go well," Gambhir tweeted.

Harbhajan wished skipper Sardar luck for the tournament where they would fce heavyweights like Australia, Spain in the group stage. "Chak De Sardar Singh and our Hockey team. i wil be cheering for u all. Go for it Boys, make us proud !!!#hockey world cup," Harbhajan wrote on his twitter page.

A few days back, Sachin Tendulkar had dropped in at the Dhyan Chand National stadium here to interact with the boys and share his on-field experiences.
