Indian GP draws in thousands
You would think that when there is slow moving traffic on the Yamuna Expressway, there has to be a mass congregation of people somewhere. It was just that, as people flocked the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) to watch the second edition of the Indian Grand Prix here yesterday
The sheer distance of the track from the capital city had no bearing as a sizeable number of fans turned up for the races on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
Cars were parked on the side of the road close to the circuit with people taking pictures of themselves and the circuit in the background. For the unlucky thousands, who had no parking pass, it was no easy task to reach their destination. A long walk to the circuit awaited those who parked in the general section.
But they were more than happy to cover that distance on foot, which on another day they would have been totally refused to do. Such was the passion for the race.
