Indians excel in Karate-Do Gojukai World C'ships

India's karate players dominated the second day of the sixth Karate-Do Gojukai World Championship at the National Sports Club of India yesterday.

India won two gold medals and one bronze. Ritik Mehta, Kavish Gandhi and Abhijit Nair won gold in the boys 13 years and below category of the team Kata technique.

India stole the show in the women’s category of the team Kumite technique by winning gold, silver and bronze medals in this technique. Keyuri Patel won gold, Thursday’s bronze medal winner (Kata technique) Kashmira Choksi won silver and Kinjal Vora took home the bronze medal. India’s Natalia and Sanaya won the bronze medal in the women’s 18 years and below category of the Kumite technique. England’s Cheryl and Lauren won gold whereas Australia’s Bridget and Catherine won the silver medal in this category.
