The Guide chatted up with Israeli psychedelic trance and electronic music band Infected Mushroom about their upcoming show and how to make music for the moment

If you like your music catchy and a soundtrack that lingers in your mind long after the night is gone, you should head to the concert by Infected Mushroom. The Israel-bred, LA-based electronic band includes Amit 'Duvdev' Duvedevani, Erez Eisen, Perry Farrell, Jonathan Davis and Paul Oakenfold. The five will play Psy-Trance fusion, metallic rock and unstoppable dance-floor beats.

So, can the Pune fans expect any special tracks? "Our show in the city is one of the first electronic shows in India. It is going to be bigger than any other show that has taken place in cities like Pune and Delhi," says Amit. The line-up will include famous tracks including Deeply Disturbed, Becoming Insane and several other tracks.

There will also be music from their new album which has been launched this year titled, Legend of the Black Shawarma. Duvdev and Erez also roadtested several of their tracks in dance clubs and adjusted them based on audience response.

Whether they are singing about "Smashing" and "Killing" or paying tribute to beloved eateries like "Poquito Mas," "Frank's" (one of the popular taco place in Mexico) or Israeli hummus factory "Sae'ed," Infected Mushroom proves that they have stayed hungry despite their massive international success. Check this out: the band has around 120 live show lined up in a year.

Popular for their international appeal songs and incendiary performances, the adventurous duo has become one of the major electronic bands globally. Twice ranked among the world's 10 best DJs by UK's DJ Magazine, the duo have wowed crowds at events across the world.

Another factor that contributes to their popularity is their use of guitars, live drums, vocals, keyboards and an ambitious multimedia backdrop. "Our music is very soothing and the tracks are energetic; so the music comes with the moment. We make it when we feel there is a need and when we get creative inspiration and positive vibes," says Erez.

We quiz them on whether they have listened to some of the electronic bands from India. "There are a lot of good Indian electronic bands. We have heard and seen them perform and our personal favourites would be Medusa, Jalebee Cartel and Midival Punditz," says both in unison.
