Intresting facts on Saina Nehwal

It was a proud moment for India when badminton player Saina Nehwal won her maiden Indonesian Super Series Premier title in Jakarta.

The Olympic medal hopeful is quite the toast of Indian sports at the moment. CS brings you some more interesting facts about the pretty Saina:

>> Born in Hisar in Haryana, Saina was brought up in Hyderabad. Her parents are both former State Badminton Champions.

>> Her ranking touched a high of World No 2 in 2010 and dropped to No 6 in 2011. She, however, re-entered the top 5 in the year 2011.

>> She is a brown belt in Karate. But she quit at the age of 8, as she was asked to have a bike run over her stomach.

>> She was one of the eight brand ambassadors at the Commonwealth Games 2010 that were held in New Delhi.

>> She became the first Indian woman to reach the quarter finals at Beijing Olympic Games.

>> She received the Arjuna Award in 2009.

>> Every time she wins a big tournament, she indulges herself with ice cream.
