Beware iPhone 7 owners! It's understandable to miss the ever-dependable 3.5mm jack. But, if you come across a YouTube video claiming that you create it by drilling your phone, avoid it at any cost!

A YouTube user has posted what turned out to be a fake Tech DIY video about drilling a hole into the iPhone 7 in order to get the much loved 3.5 mm heaedphone jack. The video's description reads, "This video is for those who don't want to get $159 wireless airpods or have to insert your headphones into an adapter every time you listen to music. "

Many iPhone 7 owners tried doing this by utilising 3.5mm drills as the video recommended and ended up with damaged smartphones. The instructions were to place the phone in a clamp and take a 3.5mm drill to where the headphone hole used to be.

Several users took to the YouTube video's comment box to voice their displeasure. The video has since gone viral and more unsuspecting people are getting tricked to do the same with the comment section containing malicious or cruel advice encouraging many to do so.
