The Oscar nominated auteur, was recently in the news for announcing his next venture titled Floating Gardens. “Majid Majidi has been invited by the Entertainment Society of Goa to grace their film festival as the chief guest,” a well-placed source reveals.
The festival is slated to kickstart on November 20. In the meantime, Majidi is expected to visit the country in order to begin the process of meeting actors for Floating Gardens.
On the other hand, to make the impact of his visit bigger at the festival, the organisers are apparently planning something special. “The representatives are planning on hosting a special showcase of some of Majidi’s masterpieces.
One of the festival highlights is their Soul of Asia portion, which tends to showcase deeply personal and spiritual films that resonate with the ethos of Asian sensibilities and it was a perfect fit for the kind of cinema that Majidi stands for,” the informer adds.u00a0
