The actress, who purchased a sprawling apartment in a building in Khar (west) in March, has apparently been asked to pay a whopping fee of Rs 2 crore to get the flat transferred on her name. A source close to the actress says, “The seller had bought the flats from the builder and now the latter is demanding around Rs 2 crore as transfer fee. It is absolutely illegal, unwarranted and nothing short of extortion.”u00a0
Kangs’ lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee apparently first contacted the builder on May 6 but the builder is yet to get back to the aggrieved party. Says the advocate, “There is a dispute since the last two months and the builder has refused to transfer the said property till they receive the amount. I believe that the matter can be amicably resolved. In case if no consensus is arrived by the end of this week, then I have instructions from my clients to proceed legally to safeguard their legitimate rights and interest.”
