Is the CLT20 an ICC event?

Even as the International Cricket Council (ICC) maintains that the Indian Premier League and the Champions League T20 are domestic tournaments, and rightly so, the organisers of the CLT20 tournament indicated otherwise yesterday.

Is the CLT20 an ICC event?

Going by the parking stickers distributed for the Mumbai Indians vs Perth Scorchers match at the Feroz Shah Kotla here yesterday, the CLT20 has been deemed as an ICC event.u00a0

“It’s a mistake by the Delhi Police. We have nothing to do with the parking passes. They were distributed by the Delhi Police. Beside, this match is being organised by the IPL management,” a CLT20 official told MiD DAY.

The Delhi cops however, said it’s not their fault either. “We were told that this is an ICC event and that’s why we published the stickers as ICC Champions League,” a Delhi Traffic Police officer said.

The CLT20 is a property jointly owned by the Indian, South African and Australian cricket boards. It has nothing to do with the ICC. u00a0
