Scarlett Mellish Wilson's part in an upcoming film is modelled on Katrina Kaif's 'Chikni Chameli' number

Is this British model inspired by Katrina?

While it’s not uncommon to see actors play parts based on real people, it is rarer to find someone playing a role inspired on another major star. It is learnt that Katrina Kaif is believed to be the inspiration for the character in Dibakar Bannerjee’s forthcoming movie. And it’s British model Scarlett Mellish Wilson who’s playing the character of a UK girl who comes to India and becomes a big star.

And if that’s not enough, Scarlett’s item song Imported Kamariya is said to be a take off on Katrina’s Chikni Chameli from Agneepath. As a source associated with the film reveals, “Although it’s not a major role, Scarlett’s character is a film star who, at a point, does a performance at a pre-political event in the film. Considering the hype foreign-born actress generate, the character of a British girl who comes to India and becomes a big star was created.”

Interestingly, Scarlett got maximum mileage for her performance of the song at the music launch recently. More so since the heroes Emraan Hashmi and Abhay Deol were absent owing to prior commitments.

Dibakar maintains that the character is of British origin who is also one of the top Bollywood stars in India. “She has been called by the political machinery of the town to do an item song. There’s no resemblance.

There are so many girls from abroad who have made it in Bollywood. India is obsessed with fair skin. That’s what we are showing in the song.” u00a0However, our source maintained the story saying, “In the recent years, there isn’t any other girl from the UK who has come here in become a big Bollywood star here.” u00a0
