The Ranji Trophy team secured a place in the knockouts and the under-19 side defeated Punjab in the Cooch Behar Trophy final by virtue of first innings lead at Mohali.


Riding on centuries from Khizar Dafedar (106) and Sarfaraz Khan (120), Mumbai posted 466 in their first innings.


Sidak shines too
In reply, Punjab were bowled out for 462, giving Mumbai a slim four-run lead largely due to a five-wicket haul by left-arm spinner Sidak Singh.

The young spinner has claimed 27 wickets in five matches, including three five-wicket hauls.
