Sachin Tendulkar showed his team how to play on a low and slow Kotla wicket while the Delhi daredevils' batsmen were all at sea on their home turf

The mystery Feroz Shah Kotla wicket proved to be too much for the home team to handle. Mumbai Indians were able to adjust to the low and slow playing surface while Delhi Daredevils, in spite, of practicing on it for the last 18-20 days were not able to get a grip.

On such a surface, winning the toss is very crucial as chasing a big score is a difficult ask.

Sachin Tendulkar took the game away from Delhi. The Master showed his class and made batting look easy on a wicket which was tough to bat on. He was just timing the ball and finding the gaps beautifully. By taking on Dirk Nannes straight away, he eased the pressure off the incoming batsmen.

I saw Saurabh Tiwary bat for the first time and is a treat to watch. It was like watching a West Indian hitting the ball into the stands. Ambati Rayudu looked very promising too.

Mumbai's 218 was a huge score given the wicket, conditions and the visitors didn't allow Daredevils to come into the game at any time.

It's about starts and partnerships. Delhi were unlucky to lose their best batsmanu00a0- Gautam Gambhir u2013 through injury and they didn't get partnerships going.u00a0 Sehwag and Gambhir are a lethal partnership and once Sehwag got out, the team crumbled. It was not the kind of wicket you could go for big hits while chasing a big score.

The Mumbai bowling attack had a lot of variety. The bowlers mixed their deliveries very well. Dwayne Bravo, Lasith Malinga and Kieron Pollard made life difficult for the Delhi batsmen.

Delhi have reason to worry on the bowling front too. If Nannes does not fire then they are under pressure. And the fielding was awful. Amit Mishra was sub-standard while Dilshan should be taking his catches at this level. In Twenty20, you can fail as a bowler and batsman, but fielding has to be top-class.

The low and slow wicket was disappointing, especially when the franchises are spending so much money on their teams. Between very good, good and average, I will rate this wicket as average. The groundsmen sure have a lot of work to do.
