It's raining sales around town. What better time than now to get reluctant and hesitant shoppers (read: guys) to show them the brighter side of sale-shopping. The GUIDE's day out meant that Dhara Vora played in-house wardrobe assistant to Hassan M Kamal. The end result two uber-cool dude looks, and a newly-converted shopaholic!

It's a steal! The ultimate cool dude style guide

The day-tripper look > Smart, Casual

Hassan’s thumbs up
>> The fit was important and since a white shirt goes well with almost anything, guys... go for this one.
>> Comfy and light, I really liked these trousers. More so because it’s a nice shift from dark shade formals or jeans. The fitting was nice and gives a semi-formal look.
>> Don’t think twice for this one. It’s cheap, comfortable, and like my wardrobe assistant suggested, it works for office wear as well as casual wear. Besides, these are available in plenty of shades, if you’re interested.

Dhara’s pick
A plain white shirt is the easiest way to look good and is adaptable too. So, simply put on a jacket and you’ll be ready for a post-work party.

Jeans might be something you are the most comfortable in but opting for a different style of bottomwear will immediately change your appearance. And these comfy cotton trousers will keep you airy without passing off as pajamas.

These shoes spell office-wear fun. They give a dressy impression from the top, but the rubber soles flip them to the casual side. For this price, you should grab these in a blink.

The after hours look> Trendy, Edgy

Hassan’s thumbs up
>> I liked the print, and the fit was perfect, not the usual case when I’m buying a readymade shirt. So, I would say go for it.
>>u00a0Although, a bit expensive for my taste, I liked the sporty, unconventional look of the jacket. Nonetheless, a good pick for the chilly evenings or outdoor trips.
>>u00a0Not a fan of colours, and typically, I would rather spend the money on a nice pair of jeans, but when paired with the shirt, the dark blue corduroy gels well. I hate to admit it, but I really liked it.
>>u00a0The shoes are good choice for a night out, and really stand out. My only concern, however, is that the leather makes it a high maintenance keep.

Dhara’s pick
Most guys might not be too comfortable sporting prints, except on T-shirts, but this patterned shirt is subtle, and the broken houndstooth weave is a good change from checked shirts.
All apparel for this look from Zara.
For Rs 1,590

If you’re not confident of pulling off a printed shirt, tone things down by putting on a solid coloured jacket. This tan pure leather jacket will satisfy the inner biker in you too.
For Rs 7,990

Coloured jeans or chinos are still in vogue in India. But if a bright red or turquoise is too loud for you, opt for a darker shade of blue, not your regular denim shade, though. We loved that these dyed corduroy pants are stylish and comfy.
For Rs 1,990

Add some punk to your outfit with these hightops that discreetly add colour to your look with its fluroscent yellow soles.
For Rs 2,790
