It's ice, ice baby for Aarti Chhabria

You'll always find a tub of some yummy ice cream in Aarti Chhabria's refrigerator. The lady not only has her dessert, but eats it too. "Actresses are not supposed to eat calorie-laden foods like ice cream, but I've never been able to say no to it," says an unabashed Aarti. She tells CS why she can't resist ice cream, especially in the summers:

Thanda matlab ice cream
I live to eat. Life's too short to contain yourself from indulging in the things you love, and ice cream is one of them. I just can't stop at one. In fact, a few days ago I hosted a dinner at home and the dessert was ice cream. Everyone was happy to help themselves.

And, it's one of the best ways to beat the heat. The summer is getting worse by the day and so you can always indulge in a bit of frozen dessert and blame it on the heat (laughs). I like all varieties of ice cream, from the cheapest to the most expensive. In fact, I'm a candy person and love strawberry and mango flavoured candies. The butterscotch and praline combo too is a big hit with me. And yes, I just love eating kulfi.

Many a sip...
I can't do without nimbu paani in the summers. It's so refreshing. Lime instantly perks up your mood; it is also a good supply of vitamin C and combined with water and a little rock salt, it's just the perfect beverage for the summers.

Come summers and nimbu paani will always find a place in my meal. And then there are other cool drinks like khus or different flavoured sherbets that I sip throughout the day. And of course, how can I forget my favourite cold float? I just love adding ice cream to my soft drink. Every time I have this combo, I get a sore throat, but I don't mind that. However, I make sure I don't have chilled drinks outside in the heat. And if I do, I immediately drink a glass of plain water and then a glass of lukewarm water.

Curd mentality
You'll also catch me gorging on all types of curds. Dahiwala Chawal (curd rice) with salt and rai ka tadka is just perfect during this season. I love curd and have it with almost every meal. Anyways I stick to soups and salads in summers as much as I can. My breakfast is the heaviest meal of the day with cornflakes and milk, poached eggs, prunes and dates, while my lunch is made up of dal, sabzi and roti and I try to avoid carbs post 7pm. In summer, these meals get interspersed with curd and flavoured milk. I know all this is fattening, so I make sure I have it in the right limit.
