Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez's latest album Dance Again is just out. In an email interview with The Guide, she lets readers in about her music and acting mantras, doing a voiceover, and finally how she juggles it all
“Nobody knows what I’m feeling inside... I wanna dance, love and dance again.” Is this a situation you feel you are in right now?
No, it is not the situation with me right now, but it is generally how life is… I love the message of the song. It has a strong connotation that when mishaps occur, your life doesn’t stop. You push yourself to get up. You’re gonna live. You’re gonna be okay. You’re gonna dance again.
This is your second hit collaboration with Pitbull. How did the second collaboration come about? Do we see more dance tracks with both of you together in the future?
First it was On The Floor, which was a phenomenal success in our lives. We both decided during the making of On The Floor that we were going to come up with another new smash hit for music patrons. And here we are, with Dance Again. It is like a moment of déjà vu with this album. Not only with this, we are already in talks for another chartbusting song.

You have also lent your voice in Ice Age 4. How did that happen, what was it like to voice a sabre-toothed tiger?
I always wanted to do something different and luckily, Ice Age 4 fell in place. It is a unique experience to lend voice to such a strong female character like Shira; I love playing such roles. It brings out the performer in me.
You also gave a hit this year with What to Expect When You’re Expecting. Acting or singing — what’s your first love?
I started my career as an actress and therefore would never ignore my passion towards acting. Singing is what I have developed on, so I keep honing my skills in it.u00a0
Forbes voted you as the Most Powerful Celebrity, recently. You are touring, working on films, in a relationship and spending time with your kids. How do you keep yourself sane?
It is all about being a multi-tasker, and I’m good at that.
A lot has been said about your exit from the American Idol. What happened?
I had to put a lot of things at halt because of American Idol. Now, it is time for me to move on and look ahead for my future endeavours. I want to emphasise on my singing career. Being at American Idol for years has made me felt at home. The contestants and other fellow judges are like family to me. All the contestants on the show are incredible.
When do we see you perform in India? Any plans of collaborating with an Indian artiste?
India is a great country, I know people love me in India and appreciate my work. Let’s wait and watch! One should not reveal it all.
