Jay Z and Beyonce Knowles join US protests over Trayvon murder
Jay Z and Beyonce joined thousands of Americans at rallies on Saturday, as anger continued to boil over a not-guilty verdict in the shooting death of black teenager Trayvon Martin.
The call for nationwide vigils designed to press for federal action in the emotionally charged case drew thousands to one New York rally, News24.com reported.
However, the surprise appearance of the super couple has helped swell the crowd at a Manhattan protest addressed by the black teen’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, and civil rights leader Al Sharpton.
Beyonce posted a message on her website, demanding people to fight for Trayvon the same way the generation before they fought for Emmett Till in 1955.
