Two women and a man, make away with six bangles and two necklaces within seven hours after the grand launch of Joyalukkas showroom in Mulund on January 3
It was not at all an auspicious start for Joyalukkas jewellers, who opened a new shop in Mulund on January 3, as gold ornaments worth Rs 4.69 lakh were stolen within seven hours of inauguration of the showroom at the hands of Bollywood star and brand ambassador Hrithik Roshan. The stolen jewellery comprised six bangles and two necklaces.

An officer from Mulund police station said, “Modus operandi opted by the three accused, as clearly seen in the CCTV footage, was that a man and a woman were keeping the salesman engaged by asking him to show ornaments put on display.

While he was busy, their woman accomplice made away with the ornaments. The store lost six gold bangles worth Rs 2.73 lakh and two necklaces costing Rs 1.96 lakh.” All three accused, who are at large, have been booked for theft. Store manager Bitu Polke refused to comment on the issue when contacted.
