Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi's son Sooraj, arrested on the charge of abetting the suicide of actress Jiah Khan, today moved Bombay High Court for bail.
The sessions court had last week rejected Sooraj's bail plea, saying that prima facie Jiah had been mentally abused by him.u00a0

He was arrested on the basis of a letter, purportedly written by Jiah, which was found by her mother Rabiyah Khan and her sister from Jiah's bedroom a few days after she hung herself from the ceiling fan on June 3.u00a0

In the letter, Jiah spoke how she was mentally harassed by Suraj and how she had undergone an abortion. Sooraj, lodged in Arthur Road prison in central Mumbai, says in his bail plea that he and Jiah were in a consensual relationship and the letter is being misused by Rabiyah.u00a0

Police's case is that letter was "incriminating" against Sooraj as Jiah blamed him for her downslide and said she was "heartbroken" in her relationship with him and was fed up with his "womanising".u00a0

The High Court is likely to hear the bail application on July 5.
