But, in case you haven’t quite found out what your kid might love doing, you may want to take a look at the workshops offered by Junoon Theatre. The summer workshops for children are back and promise all the fun with some valuable lessons.
So, you have Timira Gupta, who will teach circus tricks like three-ball juggling and poi-spinning and at the same time will impart skills like hula hoop, contact ball, mind-body balance and basic acrobatics.
She warns that the exercises could be physically exhausting for some, but at the end of it, kids understand themselves better than before. “All the exercises are designed to help kids know themselves, discover their limitations and then learn to get over them, and while doing so improve mind-body balance,” says Gupta.
Gupta will also be conducting a story-telling workshop for kids aged eight to 12. “The idea is to indulge in nonsense and learn how to create a story out of nothing. It’s fun,” she adds.
Then there’s well-known puppeteer Anurupa Roy, who will introduce kids to the world of puppetry and teach them the art of making puppets from everyday things like newspapers.
The workshop also aims to motivate kids to explore their surrounding to tell a story and find rhythms in nature.u00a0Kids can even learn to explore the comical side within themselves, and improve on the art of telling one’s story with a dash of humour with Puja Sarup. Besides there are also workshops on pottery, miniature theatre, poetry, acting, word games and more.
