Last week, Mumbai’s wicketkeeper-batsman Aditya Tare had slammed a double ton against Fort Vijay CC at Azad Maidan. u00a0Marathe, who last played Ranji Trophy for Mumbai in 2011, said he wasn’t competing with Tare.

“That was not the intention to score more than Tare. The double century was not on my mind when I went into bat. Everything fell in place as the innings
progressed,” the wicketkeeper-batsman told MiD DAY.

Marathe, however, is definitely eyeing to win back his place in the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team this season. “It is always the goal. The season so far has been very good for me. This was my second century,” he said.

Meanwhile, Pravin Tambe’s 6-71 went in vain as National Cricket Club (207-8 declared) beat Dr DY Patil Sports Academy (206 and 14-0) on first innings.
