Kanye West was forced to cancel his secret gig in New York City on Sunday night after a "riot" broke out.
The rapper was set to perform an intimate show at Webster Hall in Manhattan. However, he was left with no choice but to axe the performance after hundreds of desperate fans descended on the venue, climbed on top of cars and scrambled over one another to get a glimpse of the rapper.
The situation got so out of control that Kanye was heard on his wife Kim Kardashian West's Snapchat calling for Mayor Bill de Blasio to "shut down the block" after a number of fans were pepper sprayed.
Kim managed to capture most of the explosive scenes on her social media site. Kanye was set to perform at the venue after his headline slot at the Governors Ball, held in the Big Apple, but he was left disappointed after it was called off due to bad weather.
However, although he did not get to wow fans at the music event, he did perform at Hot 97's Summer Jam instead.
