Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan's relationship was the most talked about affair in Bollywood. However, post their breakup in 2007, Kareena has rarely talked about it. But in a recent interview, the actress opened up about her past relationship with her Jab We Met co-star.
Speaking to Anupama Chopra, the Veere Di Wedding actress revealed that it was Shahid who actually told her about Jab We Met. "It was Shahid who actually said that I should hear this script of this film. He was like, 'It's amazing, the girl's part is amazing and you should do it.' He kind of actually got this entire project together and both of us ended up doing this film," she said.

Talking about the breakup she said, "Of course, then destiny had its own plan and life took its own course. A lot happened in the making of this film and Tashan and our lives... We all kind of went our separate ways. And this beauty of a movie came out of it."
Tashan, which released in 2008, bombed at the box office. However, the movie changed her life. Speaking about it, she said in the same interview, "I think we just had to kind of do this movie at this time when Tashan was being made... and I met Saif. So I kind of did Tashan for that actually... when I actually thought that that was gonna change my life and my career. But this (Jab We Met) changed my career and that (Tashan) changed my life. Because I did meet the man of my dreams and I did marry him. And this (relationship with Shahid) kind of took its own course in which both Shahid and me went our separate ways. And this gem came out of it," she said.
Kareena had earlier revealed how Saif had first brought up the possibility of marriage to her when they were shooting for Tashan in Greece. He repeated the same when they were together in Ladakh, but she wasn't sure about it. Kareena Kapoor married Saif Ali Khan in a private ceremony in 2012. Saif was married to Amrita Singh for thirteen years before divorcing in 2004. Together they had two kids - Ibrahim Ali Khan and Sara Ali Khan. Kapoor and Khan became parents to their son, Taimur Ali Khan, in December 2016.
On the other hand, Shahid married Delhi girl Mira Rajput in 2015. The couple has two kids, daughter Misha and son Zain. On the work front, Shahid will be seen in the sports drama Jersey.
Coming to Kareena, she was last seen opposite Akshay Kumar in Good Newwz. In 2020, she'll star in Angrezi Medium with Irrfan Khan and she also has Laal Singh Chaddha with Aamir Khan.
