A batting collapse by Zimbabwe handed New Zealand a 34-run victory in their one-off test here on Saturday.

The hosts were scenting victory when they went to tea on 265-3 but their hopes were dashed in the final session as they lost their last seven wickets for just 66 runs.

New Zealand paceman Doug Bracewell and veteran spinner Daniel Vettori -- who took his 20th five-wicket haul in the first innings -- shared eight wickets, with the former taking five for 85.
