Kumble to submit analysis on ill-fated England tour

Former India captain Anil Kumble will submit his analysis on the disastrous tour of England to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) during his visit here for the one-off Twenty20 International between India and England on October 29, it is learnt.

India suffered a humiliating 0-4 whitewash in the Test series, followed by losses in the one-off Twenty-20 match and in the ODI series. The Board received severe flak from all quarters for poor planning as the reason for the team's dismal performance.

Kumble, also president of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), will be attending BCCI's Working Committee meeting also scheduled for the same day. This will be the first Working Committee meeting chaired by new president N Srinivasan and is perhaps very significant in determining the future course of action.

Good relations
These days, the BCCI and the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) have a very cordial relationship, and this will be the first time in seven years when top Board officials will visit Kolkata for such an important meeting, as pointed out by a member of the Working Committee.

"CAB is getting a lot of importance from the new Board office bearers. That's why this is a very important meeting," the member said. CAB president Jagmohan Dalmiya is a very happy man. "This is very positive (news) and a significant move for us," the former BCCI president told MiD DAY. Kolkata is scheduled to host an ODI, T20I and a Test match this season. "Once upon a time there was nothing happening in Kolkata. But now the scenario has changed," he said.
