She's as pretty as a picture and although actor Dia Mirza claims that she's not fashion conscious per se, she does like to dress like a lady. She shares her style statement with CS:
Fashionably aware
I am not a fashionista in the true sense of the term. But I know that as an actor, I am always under the spotlight wherever I am. So, I do pay some attention to what I wear, especially if I am in a public place. I can say that I am quite consistent with my dressing.u00a0
I usually buy what looks good on me. Some people have told me that I have been a trend-setter (smiles). I don't like to stick to a particular style or manner of dressing as I enjoy experimenting with stuff. I will never buy an outfit just because it looks good on someone else. Clothes are an extension of your personality, and should reflect you as a person.u00a0
Shopping haunts
Well, you might wear a watch worth Rs 5.5 lakh, but there's no guarantee that it will look superb on you. Likewise, I don't believe that only branded clothes or accessories make a person fashionable.
I shop from all over the world, even from street side shops if I find something really nice. My favourite haunts are New York City, London, Amsterdam and Barcelona. You must try out shopping in Spain; it can be quite an experience! My wardrobe has more dresses than any other item.u00a0
My style icons
I think every little girl looks upto her mum as a beautiful woman. My mother has been my style icon. She taught me that a lady must always dress like one. I also admire Shabana Azmi for her dressing, as it has a lot of individuality. And when it comes to timeless classics, Audrey Hepburn is one of my favourites. Her black dress in Breakfast at Tiffany's is immortal. I also loved Jackie Kennedy's sense of style.
