As a prelude to The India Design Forum, one of India’s foremost design platforms by Rajshree and Aishwarya Pathy, at the NCPA, on March 15-16, the weeklong India Design Week has created waves. Don’t miss it.

March 12
>Dutch Design Workspace: Akshay Tyagi will curate and moderate the workshop, Ripping the Seams of Fashion, where the event will focus on fashion’s relevance from its struggle between modernity, modernisation and tradition. Panelists include Leeza Mangaldas, Riaan George, Meher Verma, Noorie Sadrangani. (Registration needed).

>Pallate, Mahalaxmi: The Studio Collection 2012-13 will create a mood for its new collection Spike by Shahid Datawala at the store’s welcome area .

>Everyday Project: Admire a collection created for the Design Week, of furniture and products, which combine industrial design with visual playfulness to reflect Ajay Shah’s innovative designs.

>Private Studio Obataimu: Discover quirky light installations of founder Noorie Sadarangani that brings forgotten objects to life, with twist.

>Pinakin: View the new collection of 2013 created by Pinakin Patel, known for his eclectic furniture designs.

>Good Earth: Launch of The Farah Baksh Journal to share the Kashmir journey through design eyes, an exhibition by Bangalore-based Arastan to showcase treasures from the Silk Route and Morocco, including carpets, glassware, blue ceramics, silk ikat, and their signature tribal cushions and ottomans. Sunhil Sippy’s Into the Crowd photo exhibition looks at Bombay, a journey from macro to micro. (By invitation).

March 13
Le Mill: Attend this workshop to explore the connect between design and dining with India’s evolving culinary scene by Riyaaz Amlani, Ayaz Basrai, Gresham Fernandes and Ritesh Rathi, brought together by Nachiket Shetye and Mangal Dalal of Cellar Door Hospitality. (Registration needed). Bijoy Jain, Rajiv Saini and Ashiesh Shah will create a curated interior exhibit within Wadi Bunder.

> Design Temple: Launch of a new collection inspired by Earth & Design. Enjoy Design Salon with historian Naman Ahuja, JNU, Delhi, and Vogue’s Bandana Tewari. (By invitation)
