Leander Paes eyes elusive World Championship

Even as India's tennis world basks in Leander Paes' glorious 14th Grand Slam-winning feat, after he bagged the men's doubles title at the US Open recently, the man himself has already set a new goal.

Paes now wants to clinch the World Tour Finals also known as the World Championship that begins in London on November 4.

“I leave on Sunday for the Thai Open and the Chinese Open. But the World Championship at London’s O2 Arena is what I’m aiming for next. It’s a title that I haven’t won.

I think I’ve been in four or five finals, with four or five different partners, but that’s the one trophy missing from my showcase,” the 40-year-old tennis star said at a felicitation function at Khar Gymkhana yesterday.
