Just BBQ's returns with the third edition of Backyard Barbecue, drop in an email to join them
Starting November 1, a quaint cottage on Boran Road, Bandra (W), will sizzle hotter than the desert sands in May. With ad man Prahlad Kakkar at the helm of affairs, several men and women, will learn the art of barbequing. This is the third edition of Just BBQ’s Backyard Barbecue — where you can learn more about the culinary art and even buy kits — which also promises to be its finest yet.

Forty-seven year-old Pratap Arora, a man with more than 15 years’ experience in the F&B space, is the co-founder of Just BBQ’s along with Kakkar, who is popular amongst his team members for cooking up meals during outdoor shoots. This prompted Arora to gift him a barbecue set. One thing led to another and the two became importers and sellers of some of the finest barbecue kits in the country.
Arora says the biggest challenge his company has faced it to explain the difference between a tandoor and a barbecue. “Most don’t know the difference between the two and we want them to experience the flavors of meat that has been delightfully barbecued.” This became the genesis of the Backyard Barbecue.
At the event a group of barbecue aficionados will roast chicken, pork chops, lamb chops, burgers, paneer, vegetables, seafood and even desserts on the hosts’ barbecue kits. The marinade will be prepared by Kakkar. “If the attendees choose,” adds Arora, “they can even barbecue food themselves and we will help them out.” And, the food is free.
The only catch is that you have to be on Arora’s or Kakkar’s database to receive an invite.
