Looking for some tips on how to get better with food photography, this upcoming workshop by food stylist Amrita Rana maybe of interest to you. The home chef, known for her interesting cookery workshops and the food blog, Life Ki Recipe, will be laying the table for budding photographers, food bloggers or anyone with an interest in food photography, in a day-long do-it-yourself workshop, later this month.

The food styling workshop is open to all and will see Rana explore several relevant topics that can make or break a picture, such as how to squeeze sauce the right way, plating based on cuisine types, styling hot food, choosing the right garnish as well as various artificial and real styling food options that one can opt for.

Participants will also be taught how to manipulate surroundings and use plating wisely to give a particular look to food — particularly vintage, dark and moody look — and to create a beach environment in food photos.

Another important part of the workshop is working with natural light and using different props from kitchen to make your images appealing.
