Children’s Day is celebrated every year on November 14 to mark the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Creating awareness about adoption
Friends of Sassoon Hospitals (SOFOSH), a non-profit organisation based in the city, will be hosting a series of activities for orphan children at the childcare centre Shreevatsa. Join the kids in a four-day celebration, starting today. There will be birthday celebrations, a cycle rally, street play performance, and special programmes to create awareness about adoption.

Children’s films at Shamiana
Shamiana will be screening some of the finest short films and documentaries from around the world for kids. Children can catch films like Big Buck Bunny, animation film from Netherlands, Ormie from Canada, Pigeon Impossible from USA and Johnny Express among others.

Birthday celebration at Sanmati Bal Niketan
Every year, city-based orphanage, Sanmati Bal Niketan, celebrates Children’s Day along with the birthday of its founder, Sindhutai Sapkal. On this day, the kids from the NGO meet the well-wishers of the NGO, play games, share their experiences and take part in several other activities. Join the children and its founder for this unique celebration and help bring their wishes come to life.
