Starting Friday, Lakme Fashion Week kick-starts its seasonal bi-annual gala. Here's what you can expect




The accessory show featuring the talented troika Eina Ahluwalia, Malini Agarwalla and Suhani Pittie has been consistently presenting inventive ideas, making it one of the most anticipated presentations of the event.



Petite Marathi mulgi Shilpa Chavan, known for her bizarreu00a0 but clever headgears and accessories will be watched out for. Shrivan & Narresh, the guys who dragged swimwear out of the pool and onto the runway, return to LFW.

Arjun Saluja fills in the shoes of London-based fashion designer Christopher Kane, to showcase a collection for international haircare brand TIGI Catwalk, and young Mumbai designer Nachiket Barve shares a show with Delhi designer Anupamaa (usual partner Anand Kabra will be MIA thanks to ill health).

The GenNext showcase, one where the audience gets to view new talent, goes retro with a throwback to the last five years.

'Celebrating 5 Years of Gen Next' will bring together 10 ex-Gen Next designers: Aneeth Arora, Anuj Sharma, Kallol Datta, Kunal Rawal, Nachiket Barve, Nitin Bal Chauhan, Rahul Mishra, Rimzim Dadu, Sailex Ngairangbam and Swapnil Shinde, on one ramp.

Each designer will show five garments inspired by a word or phrase that best describes them. Anuj picks Simplicity, Nachiket goes foru00a0 Neo-Sophistication, Rimzim is the Textured Machinist and Kallol is the Black Humourist.
