Lionel Messi's son Thiago, 5, seems to be a big pal of Barcelona forward Luis Suarez. Thiago, according to The Sun, played around with Suarez at the European Golden shoe awards on Friday when the Argentine won the award for the fourth time. Messi won the prize for being the top scorer in Europe's leading leagues last season after netting 37 times for Barcelona.

But to many at the Antigua Fabrica Estrella Damm in Barcelona, Thiago stole the show. "The youngster, armed with a mischievous look in his eyes, charged toward the former Liverpool ace at the front of the ceremony. He proceeded to fist-bump Suarez, before racing back to his seat next to mother Antonella Roccuzzo. Thiago then continued to look along the row of chairs towards Suarez as the award ceremony went on. Whenever the pair shared eye contact, the youngster had to cover his mouth to stop an explosion of laughter," reported the tabloid.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror reported that Messi said in an interview to Marca that Thiago does not call him 'dad' or 'daddy'. "Thiago already begins to realise, more or less, but not quite. He likes to go to the stadium and watch the games, but he still does not fully understand it. Even at home he sees me and calls me Leo Messi, because it is what he hears from his friends, he still does not understand it at all," said Messi.
