Little spinner Musheer Khan shines for Payyade

Musheer Khan, who recently became the youngest cricketer to play in the Dr HD Kanga cricket league, helped his side � Payyade Sports Club enter the final of the 13th Dronacharya Shri Ramakant Achrekar cricket selection tournament for boys' U-14 played at the Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA) ground in Kandivali on Saturday.

The eight-year-old scalped nine wickets in the semi-final against Prabodhan Sports Club and helped Payyade register a win by an innings and 127 runs.

In the first innings, the left-arm spinner, claimed four as Prabodhan were bundled out for 66 in 49.1 overs. Atharva Poojari scored a brilliant century to help Payyade score 229 for six in 69 overs.

Musheer came back and picked up a fifer in the second innings to bowl out the opposition for mere 36 runs in 19.1 overs. Meanwhile, in the other semi-final, Sporting Club defeated CPCC by virtue of first innings lead.
