Debutant Karun Chandhok's Formula One career was off to a horrendous start as he couldn't even complete two laps in the Bahrain Grand Prix yesterday.
While Chandhok was forced into an early exit by a bump in the circuit, Force India drivers Vitantonio Liuzzi and Adrian Sutil started their 2010 F1 season with a lot of promise.
Italian Liuzzi finished ninth and earned Force India two invaluable points while Sutil dropped out of point race after an opening lap scramble to eventually finish 12th.
"I'm really pleased. We achieved our target and scored some points, which is a great result for myself and for the team. It was a difficult race as with this amount of fuel and the tyres, plus the heat, we had a bit to control but overall I think we can be pretty happy about how we handled it and to be in the points is magic," Liuzzi said.
