Liverpool fans trolled Philippe Coutinho's wife Aine yesterday moments after it was confirmed that their star midfielder was heading to Barcelona. The Catalan giants have signed the Brazilian on a five-and-a-half year contract and fans took to Instagram to blame Aine for the move.

Fans wrote harsh messages alongside the below picture posted by Aine on Instagram recently with her daughter, Maria. "I bet you brainwashed Phil to leave just like Suarez's stupid wife back then brainwashed him to leave... stupid wives... without Liverpool your husband would be NOBODYYY," wrote one Liverpool fan. Another wrote: "Bye you simple b****."

One heartless follower even criticised the child: "Snake family. Your kid will be dumped like Coutinho did." Only a few seemed to understand that Coutinho's move was purely professional and that his wife will simply follow him there. "Coutinho joined his dream club, Aine is going with her husband. It's normal. Stop hating," wrote one fan.
Barcelona will pay around £142million (R1,218 crore) for Coutinho, making it the third most expensive transfer in ever after Neymar Jr (£198m) and French star Kylian Mbappe (£165m).
