Liverpool midfielder Ibe smashed a match-winning goal in the 37th minute of the game to give his side a lead before the Jurgen-Klopp side lost midfielder Philippe Coutinho and defender Dejan Lovren due to hamstring injury, the Guardian reported.

Meanwhile, Stoke City failed to continue the form they displayed during their recent home wins.

Liverpool will once again lock horns with Stoke City in the semifinal second leg on January 27.
