Loss is tough to swallow, says Alastair Cook
Alastair Cook has precious little time to dwell on England's Champions Trophy final defeat against India a disappointment he agrees is his worst as captain.
England fell just five runs short at Edgbaston last night, chasing 129 for seven — in a match reduced by rain to 20 overs per side — and they must therefore wait at least another two years to break their duck in one-day international global tournaments.
By then it will be 40 years since the first of 17 failed attempts “It will take a couple of days. It’s a tough pill to swallow at the moment. “We had high hopes... of achieving something special.”
