Louis Tomlinson and Briana Jungwirth welcomed their first child, a son, on Thursday, January 21 in Los Angeles, a source close to Jungwirth confirmed.
“Louis is happy and very excited about becoming a dad and he thinks Briana will be an amazing mother,” a mutual friend of the duo said. “It was a surprise at first, but he and Briana are very, very close friends and this has brought them even closer,” the insider added.
The 24-year-old singer and Jungwirth briefly dated in May last year following his split from long-term girlfriend Eleanor Calder.
It was earlier reported that the singer jetted all the way to LA because he did not want to miss the birth of his child. And as the news of his baby joy broke, the singer was spotted shopping at a high-end store on Friday, just hours after the birth. The photographers hounded Louis for a possible baby name but the talented singer played it coy and hurried for the exit.
