A Delhi Police official attached to the Metro said they have sought a copy of the sting CD for a probe and Metro officials also assured an inquiry if the CD of the sting was found genuine.

The sting CD showed a member of the toilet cleaning staff at a Metro station demanding Rs 500 from a reporter who approached him as a decoy customer, seeking space in the washroom for himself and his woman friend.

Officials of the Central Industrial Security Force, responsible for security at Metro stations, said the matter should be investigated.

Delhi Metro spokesperson Anuj Dayal said, “The CD of the news report shown by the television channel has been handed over to the DMRC’s chief security commissioner for investigation. If anyone is found involved in any wrong doing, very stern action will be taken against the guilty persons.”

“The washrooms of Delhi Metro stations are maintained and managed by private operators,” he said.

An official of NGO Sulabh International, a private operator that looks after at least 128 toilet blocks at 108 Metro stations, said they were aware of the sting operation and were investigating it.
