Growing up in the northern town of Chandigarh, Ayushmann Khurrana knows what winter can be like. "I feel the weather in Mumbai is a little monotonous. It can be a little boring," says Ayushmann. With winter setting in the city, the actor tells CS what he loves about the season:

Loving the nip in the air

Wow wardrobeu00a0
I love the fact that you can experiment with your wardrobe during winters. The jackets, scarves, pullovers, winter is the time when you can flaunt them with comfort and style. Unfortunately, Mumbai has a humid weather. So, when I am in Delhi during winters I make the most of the season and sport all my sweaters, boots, jackets and pullovers.

On the road
Though there’s a lot of smog in many places, driving in the soft winter sun can be a delight. And when there’s smog you can just put blinkers and relax. You don't even need the AC, and so save on petrol. I love winter drives when you can open the windows around 10 am or so to look outside and feel the chilling wind. It feels quite awesome to be out in the chilly weather.

Nostalgic mood
For me, winters are a time for memories. I remember the afternoons in my Chandigarh home where we had a huge terrace. All the ladies of the house would get together in the afternoon and make pickles. We kids used to run and play around. We also used to sleep in the open during the afternoons to soak in the sunlight, which was rare.

Romantic season
The cold weather is definitely more romantic (laughs). Though I haven't been there, I think Ladakh will be truly romantic in the chilling weather. I like beach destinations more in this season. The water is perfect; you can go swimming, laze around in the sun and party hard. I like tropical places in winters.

Food fun
Every Punjabi is crazy about sarson ka saag and makki ki roti and I love them too. My favourite is gajar ka halwa. I think carrot is the perfect winter vegetable, bright, healthy and tasty.
